Two-family Attached House in Cypress Hills, $685K
I’ve had my eye on Cypress Hills for a while. It’s a sub-section of East New York on a hill (the name fits), north of Atlantic Avenue butting up against Highland Park and Cypress Hills Cemetery. It has a variety of architecture styles throughout the neighborhood, beautiful big houses (that rarely hit the market, I’m looking at you, Highland Boulevard), and some modestly sized homes. Home Prices have been steadily increasing over the years. As prices in Bushwick, it’s neighbor to the northwest, soar, will people head more east into Cypress Hills?
Here’s an attached two-family (3 story) wood frame house at 19 Wyona Street in Cypress Hills for $685K that is in move-in condition. Each unit is 2-bedroom and 1-bath. The first floor unit has access to the yard through the smaller bedroom.
Sure you can update to make it glamorous, redoing kitchens and bathrooms, some of the flooring, changing hardware and decorating it in the latest trends. I’d love to swap the kitchen and bathroom locations and create an open kitchen to the dining/living area. However, you can leave as is, move in and do the work over time.
The rental income will hopefully help offset about half the mortgage. What do you think about this house, price and location?
